Smith was the recipient of numerous accolades, including the prestigious "Triple Crown of Acting," comprising Academy, Tony, and Emmy awards, Smith triumphed on the big screen, on stage, and in television. Well into her 80s, the British actress won over a new audience with her signature role as Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham, in the hit show 'Downton Abbey' and its movie spin-offs. Meanwhile, she continued to tread the boards on stage and remained active in charitable fundraising work.
