Two years ago we thought Daniel Kaluuya was experiencing his career high, but it seems he was just getting started. The British actor has starred in a few record-breaking blockbuster films, and at 32 years old he's already been nominated for two Oscars, the first being the Best Actor award for his breakthrough role in Jordan Peele's racially-charged horror flick 'Get Out' (2017), and the second being Best Supporting Actor for Shaka King's stunning film 'Judas and the Black Messiah' (2021)—which he won!
"You got to celebrate life, man! We're breathing, walking, it's incredible. It's incredible," he said while accepting the award. "Like, it's incredible. My mom met dad, they had sex. It's amazing."
The camera cut to his mother, Damalie Namusoke, in the audience at the BFI in London, and her visible progression from confusion to fury to complete embarrassment was absolutely priceless. Needless to say, we can't wait for the actor to accept more awards.
And it seems he will be! Click through to take a look at the life and career of the brilliant Daniel Kaluuya so far.
