Babe's rescue wasn't the first time Cromwell worked with PETA. He superglued his hand to the counter of a midtown Manhattan Starbucks on May 10, 2022, to protest the chain’s extra charge for plant-based milk. The 82-year-old Oscar nominee really channeled his 'Succession' character Uncle Ewan as he sat on the Starbucks counter wearing a 'Free the Animals' T-shirt and read a statement criticizing the charge for vegan milk alternatives. "When will you stop raking in huge profits while customers, animals, and the environment suffer?” he demanded, as per the stream on Facebook, AP News reports. He later used a knife to scrape his hand off the counter, and police said there were no arrests.

Stella McCartney, famous fashion designer and daughter of Paul McCartney, is another dedicated animal rights activist. Her clothing lines are free of fur, leather, and any other animal skins. She has worked with PETA to spread the message that leather and fur are often cruelly sourced and should be avoided.

Ironically, the man who bit the head off a bat during a concert teamed up with PETA in 2020. Their campaign focused on the cruelty of declawing cats, and Ozzy posed for a dramatic photo that showed the tops of his fingers cut off. The message read "It's an Amputation. Not a Manicure."
