Important anniversaries for many iconic cars are coming up in 2019. In this gallery, we celebrate cars launched between 1949 and 1999, so if you're into classics, you're in for a treat! Click through and enjoy these automotive beauties' milestone moments.

▲A series of models were produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) starting in 1913. Many car enthusiasts will remember the models launched circa 1949 until production ceased completely in 1971.

▲The P4, also known as the Rover 75, celebrates its 70th birthday! The car dubbed "Auntie" Rover was launched in 1949.

▲Ten years later, one of the world's most iconic cars was born: the Mini. With its transverse engine and front-wheel drive layout, the British classic set the template for small cars.

▲The "Big Healey" is a beautiful British sports car with a racing pedigree. It was first built in 1959.

▲The two-door Triumph Herald was also launched in 1959. The car became very popular in the 1960s, when saloon, convertible, coupé, estate, and van versions of the Herald were available.

The Saab 95 was a seven-seater station wagon. Production is said to have properly started in 1960, but 40 of these were made in 1959.

▲The Metropolitan Police in London bought a number of these to catch speeding motorists. With a 2.5-liter V8 engine and 140 hp under the hood, this car was first built in 1959.

▲This beautiful saloon car became famous in the UK for being driven by the fictional TV detective Inspector Morse. Production started in 1959.

▲The 246 GT was essentially the evolution of the Dino 206 GT. It featured a longer body and a 2.4 V6 engine, instead of the 2.0 of the 206. It launched in 1969.

▲Part of the popular TR range, this British sports car was a best-seller. The UK version would take you from zero to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 8.2 seconds. The TR6 was launched in 1968-69.

▲This small family car was launched in 1969 and named European Car of the Year in 1970.

▲This car was born from a collaboration between Volkswagen and Porsche. It was in production from 1969 to 1976, and became known as the "VW Porsche."

▲The Maxi was the first British five-door hatchback with a five-speed transmission. The car was launched in 1969.

▲This luxury S-Class Mercedes-Benz was introduced in 1979 as a successor to the W116.

▲The Delta HF 4WD and Integrale versions were rallying beasts. These cars went on to dominate the World Rally Championship for years. The Lancia Delta was first launched in 1979.

▲The legendary MX-5 (better known as the Miata in North America) was launched in 1989, and quickly became the most popular roadster in the world.

▲The Virage was first produced in 1989. It featured a 5.3-liter twin-supercharged V8 engine and 585 bhp. It had a top speed of 186 mph (299 km/h)!

▲In 1989, we saw the birth of a classic. Available with either a 2.5-liter diesel or 3.5-liter Rover V8 petrol engine, the Discovery was a huge hit. Thirty years later, it's still in production.

▲This beautiful muscular coupé known as 'Il Mostro' ("The Monster") featured a 3.0-liter V6 engine. It's a rare car, with just over 1,000 manufactured during its few years in production (1989-1991).

▲Honda launched the legendary S2000 in 1999. It was in production until 2009, and is becoming highly collectible in some markets.

▲The A2 wasn't a huge commercial success, but Audi got a few things right. Lightweight aluminium bodies and economical diesel engines made them very cheap to run. These cars were built from 1999 to 2005.

▲Honda's odd-looking hybrid was launched in 1999. It had low emissions and great fuel efficiency.

▲Also debuting in 1999 was the X5, BMW's first luxury 4x4 SUV. It was the German manufacturer's answer to the Mercedes-Benz M-class and the Range Rover.

▲The HR-V was Honda's first compact crossover SUV. The first generation of the HR-V was produced from 1999 to 2006. Since 2016, the car's second generation has been on the market.
