▲Tateyama Kurobe is a route that winds through the Toyama and Nagano provinces in Japan.

▲The trail extends for 90 km, as reported by CNN. One of the most famous sections is the Snow Wall Walk.

▲From April to June you can see the incredible snow walls and enjoy fantastic landscapes along the way. Ready? Let's begin out voyage.

▲Let's start in Toyama, a great place for skiers and snowboarders.

▲Toyama is an important industrial hub.

▲From Toyama, catch a train to Tateyama Station, which sits at an altitude of 475 m.

▲At Tateyama Station you can already feel the mountainous Alpine climate. Take a minute to enjoy the view and hop on a cable car to the next stop!

▲At an estimated 900 m, we arrive at a perfect place for hiking: Bijodaira.

▲But our trip along the Tateyama Kurobe route continues. Leaving Bijodaira, the next stop is the Midagahara plateau.

▲From high atop Midagahara you have a stunning view of mountains including Tenguyama Mountain.

▲Before travelling, check if Midagahara will be open. This section often closes due to excess snow.

▲At Murodo, you are at one of the most gorgeous stops in the Japanese Alps.

▲This is the highest point on the trail and you can appreciate the incredible Mikurigaike hot springs.

▲The famous snow walls are here, they're a truly stunning and unique sight.

▲Walking the Snow Wall Walk takes around 50 minutes.

▲The huge snow walls are formed during spring, and can stand around 20 m.

▲Without doubt one of the must stunning attractions on our route is the Tateyama mountain range, part of the Chubu Sangaku National Park. It almost doesn't look real.

▲Kamikochi is another rather famous site in the park with beautiful mountainous landscapes.

▲Hakuba is one of the top ski resorts in Japan, and a must-see part of the route.

▲Following along the Tateyama Kurobe route, you could take a cable car between Daikanbo and Kurobedaira. The beautiful scenery is worth it.

▲At Kurobedaira, you can take in the beautiful landscape from several lookouts.

▲Kurobe Dam is another highlight of the trip! It's the highest dam in the country.

▲The views here are fascinating. At some times of the year you can see boats floating along the gorgeous turquoise waters of Kurobe Lake.

▲The end of the Tateyama Kurobe route is Shinano-Omachi, in Nagano province. This region is worth taking a few days to explore.

▲You could also choose to do the trip the other way around, beginning in Nagano.

▲A trip to Matsumoto to visit the castle is a must.

▲Matsumoto castle is one of the most-famous and most-important of the remaining traditional Japanese castles.

▲Zenkoji, one of Japan's main Buddhist temples, is also in this area. It was built around the seventh century and is definitely worth a trip.
