Sid Vicious - In one of the most well-known celebrity murder cases, the Sex Pistols bassist stabbed his girlfriend Nancy Spungen to death in 1978. His account changed from claiming to have found her already dead to later admitting that he stabbed her. Though he was charged with her murder, he died of a drug overdose before trial.

Matthew Broderick - In 1987, the 'Ferris Bueller' star accidentally drove the wrong way on a road in Ireland and crashed into a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. Both the driver and passenger in the other car died.

Michael Massee - Brandon Lee, the rising action star and son of Bruce Lee, died in 1993 on the set of cult-classic 'The Crow' after Massee, playing the villain, shot him with an ill-prepared prop gun. It was a fatal mistake by the crew which changed Massee's life, and conspiracy theorists love to point out that it all occurred during Lee's character's death scene.

Brandy Norwood - The singer was infamously involved in a 2006 freeway pile-up in which she rear-ended a car. The driver later died in the hospital, and lawsuits leveled against the singer were eventually settled.

On a January morning in 1970, The Who drummer got in his car inebriated, and tried to escape pub patrons who were harassing him. In doing so, he accidentally hit his friend and bodyguard, Neil Boland, and was charged with Boland's death, for driving without a license or insurance, and for driving under the influence. Though the death was ruled an accident, Moon pleaded guilty to the driving charges.

Ted Kennedy - In 1969, the American politician was in Martha’s Vineyard, leaving with 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne. He accidentally drove his car off a bridge, and though he escaped, the woman did not.

Claudine Longet - The French singer was charged with manslaughter in 1976 after her boyfriend, professional skier Vladimir "Spider" Sabich, was found shot to death in her bathroom. Longet admitted to holding the gun, but claimed it was an accident when he was showing her how to handle it. The charges were later reduced to criminally negligent homicide and she was sentenced to pay a fine and spend 30 days in jail.

Luther Vandross - The Grammy Award-winning R&B artist swerved out of control on the road in 1986, killing his own passenger and injuring four others. He was charged with misdemeanor manslaughter and reckless driving, and the passenger’s family later sued him for wrongful death.
