>didir="ltr">‘Pod Save America,’ a podcast in which the current political landscape is discussed by former Obama aids, speechwriter Jon Favreau, Senior Advisor Dan Pfeiffer, and National Security spokesperson Tommy Vietor, has become wildly popular. The liberal podcast airs twice a week and features frank discussion and interviews with left-wing politicians.

Starting this fall, HBO will be airing a series of hour-long ‘Pod Save America’ specials.

Jon Lovett, writer and producer for ‘The Newsroom,’ will join the ‘Pod Save America’ hosts on the TV version as they take on the campaign trail for the 2018 midterm elections.

“[HBO] know[s] that the 2018 midterms are the most important elections of our lifetime, and the energy and excitement on the campaign trail is infectious,” said Favreau, Pfeiffer, and Vietor.

They added, “We are so grateful that HBO is taking a chance on us, even though these live shows will have so few dragons and sex robots.”

Well, let’s not make any assumptions about whether or not there will be dragons present during the midterm elections. Anything could happen.
