Whenever you are choosing a place on Airbnb, reading the comments is essential. One user discovered that her short-term roommate was a drunken deviant. She woke up to him standing over her bed, but luckily was able to escape without further problems.

Landlord lockout - A Brooklyn-based renter discovered how much profit he could make on Airbnb, and began earning over $20,000 in bookings. That is, until his landlord decided to move in on the action. The owner served him with an eviction notice and a restraining order, and made the entire building his personal Airbnb goldmine.

We didn't start the fire - A former Airbnb customer service representative revealed a fiery tale from his days in the business. In the middle of the night he received a call from a guest complaining that their Airbnb was on fire. Not long after, he received a similar call from the owner, saying the guest burned their house down. Though he never found out what really happened, all he knows is the house is definitely not up for listing anymore.

Knock knock - While enjoying a vacation in Berlin, an American man was abruptly kicked out of the apartment by the owner, who apparently was not involved in the rental process. "This guy with a thick Russian accent knocks on my door, demanding what I'm doing in his house. For a moment I thought I was in a bad 80s movie," the guest said in an interview.
