Many people are afraid of flying, which, when you think about it, seems rather rational. There is something at the very least unnerving about traveling in an aluminium tube as it hurtles through the sky. In general, however, traveling by plane is very safe and a low-risk method of transport. But when things do go wrong, they have a tendency to go very wrong. In some cases there is nothing the pilot can do, but in others a touch of masterful piloting can save the day.
Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves were on board a Lufthansa flight which sent seven people to the hospital after plummeting 4,000 feet (1,219 m) in severe turbulence. Camila shared a video of the damage aboard Lufthansa's flight 469, flying from Austin, Texas, to Germany, after pilots were forced to make an emergency landing March 1 in Washington D.C. "Everything was flying everywhere," she wrote alongside the video which showed a messy cabin, "the plane was a CHAOS." Luckily they were okay, though many passengers were reportedly spooked when their next flights were scheduled.
