Joe Perry is best known as the guitarist of Aerosmith. He did, however, record a couple of albums with his side band The Joe Perry Project in the '80s. Then, in 2005, his first solo album was released. Perry has released a few more ever since, but it's safe to say they're nowhere near Aerosmith's success.

Indeed, many lucky musicians enjoyed a high degree of success with their groups. In fact, some even did so with more than one band! But while some music artists did remarkably well for themselves when they moved on to their solo careers, others not so much. Sadly, some of these singers and musicians got nowhere near the success of their previous project.
