'The Night Porter' (1974) -

The night porter is Max, in fact Maximilian Theo Aldorfer, a former Nazi SS officer who's working at a Vienna hotel in the 1950s. There he meets Lucia Atherton (Charlotte Rampling), a Holocaust survivor whom he'd met previously during the Second World War.
