Gary Oldman has claimed that the next James Bond has already been chosen, while backing his 'Slow Horses' co-star Jack Lowden for the iconic role. Speaking to Canadian channel Global TV's 'The Morning Show' on September 4, the veteran actor said he has his “fingers crossed” for the Scottish star.
Oldman said producers have “made their choice” but have not yet announced it, although it remains unclear whether he meant Lowden specifically or was referring to the selection of the next 007. Amazon MGM Studios has not commented on his remarks.
Auditions for Bond reportedly took place in August, with producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman and director Denis Villeneuve informing shortlisted actors. Harris Dickinson, Callum Turner, and Jacob Elordi have also been linked to the role.
