Democracy has been the standing system of government for most nations around the world for as long as anyone can remember. In the United States, this system of government was borne from the drafting of the Constitution in the late 18th century. But as much as people may not want to hear it, true democracy is actually impossible and might not really be achievable in a fully rational way.
Putting aside the fickleness of human nature, mathematics shows that the systems used to uphold democracy and elect leaders are actually flawed. The ideal vision that humanity has for democracy can never come to pass, and the numbers certainly don’t lie.
