Just two weeks after flash floods swept across eastern and southern Spain, the country has been told to prepare for more torrential rain in the coming days.

On October 29, the region was hit by its worst storm in a decade and within hours the country experienced a year’s worth of rain. Valencia was the worst-hit area, as it was caught in a Dana weather system. Now it is once again set to be one of the most vulnerable areas, along with Catalonia, the Andalusia regions, and the Balearic Islands, which have all been issued an orange weather alert.

After the last flash flood, the death toll reached over 200, with some people still missing. However, authorities have reassured locals that the new weather system should not be as severe as the first and that precautions are being taken to limit the damage.
