Understanding the death toll from hurricanes
A shocking new analysis suggests deaths are exponentially higher than reported

Whenever a natural disaster strikes, we hear about the terrible cases of people losing their lives. Hurricanes, tsunamis, and wildfires can all claim human lives at an alarming rate, and there is usually a death toll reported in the news during the aftermath of the disaster.
According to a new study, however, the death toll in the event of a hurricane is usually much higher than the official number reported.
