Hurricane Helene's impact has been huge so far. At least 130 people have died across six states, and officials fear the death toll may rise. Many others are still missing, possibly stranded or unable to contact loved ones as communication infrastructure has been severely damaged.
Hundreds of roads, particularly in the Carolinas, remain closed, hindering the delivery of much-needed supplies. Additionally, over two million consumers are still without power.
