Hurricane Helene is forecast to make landfall in Florida on September 26. It’s expected to reach Category 4 strength by the time it reaches the Sunshine State. “A catastrophic and deadly storm surge is likely along portions of the Florida Big Bend coast, where inundation could reach as high as 20 feet above ground level, along with destructive waves,” the National Hurricane Center (NHC) warned.
With rain and wind speed expected to reach 130 mph, the NHC advised citizens to complete preparation by early Thursday. And exactly how are they doing this? Click on and take look at images of Floridians bracing for the arrival of Hurricane Helene.
