The Lusitanians lived in what is today Portugal and parts of bordering Spain. Recognized as ancestors to the modern-day Portuguese culture, they had their own language and customs. As people who occupied lands dating back to prehistoric times, there is limited information available about them. However, we know they were skilled fighters, and they had to be: they were eventually Romanized, despite putting up a long and initially successful campaign against the Roman army.
