Two visitors to the Lake Mead area made an unsettling discovery in shallow waters on August 16, when they came across human remains near Boulder Beach. Upon finding what appeared to be part of a human jaw, the pair alerted authorities, who responded along with the Clark County Office of the Coroner.
Officials confirmed that the remains belonged to a person. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police recorded the case as a non-criminal dead body report. The identity of the individual has not yet been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
