Russian serial killer Pichushkin is believed to have killed 48 people, but may have as many as 60 victims. He began by targeting the elderly and the homeless. He was convicted and sentenced to life in prison, condemned to solitary confinement for the first 15 years.

Luis Alfredo Garavito: Aquarius -

Born January 25, 1957.

In terms of the number of confirmed victims, Colombian killer Luis Alfredo Garavito holds the title of the most prolific serial killer in the world with 138 victims, all of whom were children or teenagers. His initial sentence was 1,853 years in prison, but this was subsequently decreased to a mere 22 years. Nevertheless, due to his identity as a child murderer, the man known as "The Beast" might serve up to 80 years behind bars.

Peter Manuel: Pisces -

Born March 13, 1927.

Manuel terrorized Scotland from 1956 until his arrest two years later. The New York City native was found guilty of the murders of seven people and was suspected of playing a role in two additional deaths. He was executed by hanging at Glasgow's Barlinnie prison in 1958.

Gary Ridgway: Aquarius -

Born February 18, 1949.

Also referred to as the "Green River Killer," Ridgway was found guilty of 49 homicides, solidifying his position as the most prolific serial killer in US history in terms of confirmed murders. He received a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

Born June 2, 1946.

Sutcliffe, famously known as the "Yorkshire Ripper," committed the murders of 13 women and made attempts on the lives of seven more during one of the UK's most notorious killing sprees. He was given a life sentence and passed away in prison in 2020.

Born May 17, 1968.

Found guilty of the murder of three young women and the attempted murder of another, Englishman Levi Bellfield received three life sentences, accompanied by the judge's recommendation that he should never be granted release.

Born February 29, 1956. 

Wuornos killed seven men from 1989 to 1990. Found guilty of murder, she received a death sentence and was executed by lethal injection in 2002. Her life journey was depicted in the movie 'Monster' (2003), featuring Charlize Theron.

Born June 1, 1953.

Under the moniker "Son of Sam," Berkowitz's killing spree in New York City during the summer of 1976 captured global attention. He admitted guilt to six homicides, resulting in six consecutive life sentences.

Born July 25, 1959.

Ukrainian mass murderer Anatoly Onoprienko admitted to the murders of 52 individuals, including an entire family of ten in 1989. He was handed a life sentence in 1996 and passed away in prison due to heart failure in 2013.

Born February 25, 1966.

Robert Napper was found guilty of the murders of two young mothers, one in front of her two-year-old son and another in front of her her four-year-old daughter. Napper is being held indefinitely at Broadmoor high-security psychiatric hospital in Berkshire, England.

Jeffrey Dahmer: Gemini -

Born May 21, 1960.

In a case that deeply shocked the United States, Dahmer admitted to the murder and dismemberment of 17 young men and boys between 1978 and 1991. Given 16 life sentences, Dahmer was fatally assaulted by another inmate at Columbia Correctional Institution in Milwaukee in 1994.

John Reginald Christie: Aries -

Born April 8, 1899.

In one of the United Kingdom's most infamous cases of wrongful conviction, it was Timothy Evans who was first pronounced guilty and executed for murders that were later attributed to John Christie. In total, Christie was found guilty of the murders of at least eight individuals and was put to death in 1953.

Ted Kaczynski: Gemini -

Born May 22, 1942.

Ted Kaczynski, better known as the "Unabomber," was the subject of one of the lengthiest and most costly investigations in FBI history. He was responsible for the deaths of three individuals and caused injuries to 23 more through a series of bombings between 1978 to 1995. He was given a life sentence without the possibility of parole. After 25 years in prison, Kaczynski took his own life at the age of 81 in 2023.

Myra Hindley: Leo -

Born July 23, 1942.

Along with her partner Ian Brady, Hindley was responsible for the infamous Moors murders—the brutal murders of five children in and around Manchester, England, during the 1960s. She was given a life sentence and passed away while incarcerated in 2002.

John George Haigh: Leo -

Born July 24, 1909.

Referred to as the "Acid Bath Murderer" by the British media, Haigh used concentrated sulfuric acid to dissolve his victims. He was confirmed to have killed six people and was executed by hanging in 1949.

Albert DeSalvo: Virgo -

Born September 3, 1931.

DeSalvo admitted to being the "Boston Strangler," responsible for the deaths of 13 women in the Boston area during the early 1960s. Initially given a life sentence for sexual assault, his later confession of murder was met with skepticism. In 2013, a DNA sample collected from his exhumed remains matched with one of the strangler's victims, and DeSalvo was formally identified as the killer. He met his end through a prison stabbing in 1973.

Born January 25, 1962.

Given a death sentence for the killing of six men in 1994, Bowles was executed at Florida State Prison in 2019.

Fritz Haarmann: Scorpio -

Born October 25, 1879.

Dubbed "The Vampire of Hanover," due to his gruesome practice of biting his victims, this killer took the lives of a minimum of 25 boys and young men in Hanover, Germany, from 1918 to 1924. He was executed in 1925.

Upon receiving life in prison for the murders of five female sex workers in the town of Ipswich in England, the judge suggested that Wright never be released from incarceration.

Fred West: Libra -

Born September 29, 1941.

West perpetrated a minimum of 12 murders spanning from 1967 to 1987. The majority of these heinous acts were committed alongside his second wife, Rosemary. Following the arrest of the couple, the investigation into these events evolved into one of the most alarming police inquiries in recent British history. Fred West eluded formal punishment, taking his own life in January 1995 while on remand.

Ian Brady: Capricorn -

Born January 2, 1938.

Hindley's accomplice, Ian Brady, was likewise sentenced to life imprisonment. During the trial's conclusion, the presiding judge characterized the duo as "two sadistic killers of the utmost depravity." Brady also passed away in prison, in 2017.

Rosemary West: Sagittarius -

Born November 29, 1953.

Rosemary West and her spouse Fred faced collective charges related to nine murders, while Fred was charged with three additional homicides. Fred took his own life, but Rose West was sent to prison. She was found guilty of 10 murders and received 10 life sentences with no chance of parole.

Born October 24, 1949.

Canadian serial killer Robert Pickton purportedly admitted to the killings of 49 women. Eventually, he faced charges for six of those murders. Pickton began serving a life sentence in 2007, without eligibility for parole for 25 years.

Dennis Nilsen: Sagittarius -

Born November 23, 1945.

Nilsen's favored technique for disposing of his victims involved flushing body parts down a toilet, a gruesome routine that ultimately exposed him and resulted in his arrest. Accused of killing a minimum of six young men, he was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. He passed away while incarcerated in May 2018.

Born 27 December 1957.

Named "La Mataviejitas" ("The Old Lady Killer"), Mexican Juana Barraza murdered as many as 48 elderly women. In 2008, she received a prison sentence of 759 years.

In 2010, a lone gunman named Derrick Bird carried out a shooting spree in Cumbria, England, during which he killed 12 individuals and inflicted injuries on numerous others before taking his own life.

Among the most prolific serial killers in history, Dr. Harold Shipman was convicted of the murder of 215 patients under his care. Handed a life sentence, he took his own life in his cell in 2004.

Born March 17, 1942. 

Gacy was found guilty of the killings of 33 teenage boys and young men. Their remains were unearthed from the crawl space of his house. Given a death sentence, he was executed through lethal injection in 1994.

Born November 24, 1946.

Although he admitted to 30 homicides carried out across seven states between 1974 and 1978, the accurate count of Bundy's victims remains uncertain. Given a death sentence, he was executed in the electric chair at Florida State Prison in 1989.

Ed Gein: Virgo -

Born August 27, 1906.

Gein was labeled "The Butcher of Plainfield" for two murders and the desecration of multiple bodies exhumed from graves around his hometown in the 1950s. The novel 'Psycho' and its subsequent 1960 film adaptation draw inspiration from his disturbing crimes. Gein passed away from cancer at the Mendota Mental Health Institute in Wisconsin in 1984.
