Making your devices, online identity, and activities more secure really doesn't take much effort. By implementing a few simple changes, you can maintain security against hackers and any outside parties’ unwanted attempts to access your data. It is vital to protect your privacy from anyone you don’t consent to sharing your information with, especially when cyberattacks have become common.
Recently, a hacking group called Salt Typhoon, believed to operate from China, has reportedly breached major US telecom companies, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, to monitor customer communications. High-ranking government officials and political figures are thought to have been targeted. The FBI has warned about cybersecurity threats linked to texting between Android and Apple devices, advising the use of secure apps like Signal or WhatsApp for encrypted messaging to protect privacy.
While Apple’s iMessage and Google Messages offer end-to-end encryption for same-platform users, texts sent between iPhone and Android users lack full encryption, leaving them exposed to potential breaches.
