An important first step to take when establishing a hair care routine is to know your exact hair type. Different types of hair require different treatment, so it’s important to know yours well.

As tempting as it may be, it's not a good idea to wash your hair with hot water. This can strip your hair of the protective oils that act as a natural conditioner.

Again, perhaps stating the obvious, but don’t forget to condition your hair. Applying the right conditioner helps moisturize the hair and restore its natural oils.
