Friendships and relationships are very important, but they are chosen. Family should be there for you, and vice versa, no matter what.

Money -

While not earning enough for the basic necessities is undoubtedly linked to unhappiness, having colossal amounts of money doesn't magically make people happy.

Don't try to change someone -

An enormous number of divorces occur due to unrealistic expectations. People think they can change their partner, and then realize that they can't.

Love yourself -

You are the only one who will ever be you. Therefore, it is important to live the best life you can and treat yourself with love, care, and respect.

Don't sleepwalk through life -

Most people have responsibilities in life, and a lot of daily routines are dull. However, don't lose years by working in a job you hate and crashing out in front of the TV every night.

Self-consciousness -

Don't waste your life worrying about what others think about you. The truth is, most people are too busy worrying about their own lives to give you much thought at all!

Don't stop learning -

The most interesting people in life are always curious. Closed-minded people who think they know everything are usually highly ignorant and objectionable.

Know where you want to go -

This doesn't mean that you have to have every single detail mapped out. But a clear idea of who, what, and where you want to be will bring great clarity.

Save money -

You never know when that rainy day may come. If it never does, that's great! But you will be very glad that you put something aside if it does occur.

Happiness -

While we all have bad days, happiness can often be a decision. Don't look to something or someone to fulfill your happiness though. It has to come from within.

People can get away with bad health choices, to a certain point. But the sooner you make the decision to eat well, keep hydrated, and exercise, the better.

So many people aspire to be rich and buy everything that they've ever wanted. But in truth, it is the experiences you have in life that are far more valuable.

Many of us are so busy rushing around, that we forget to take a step back and really absorb our surroundings. Try it, and you will find a sense of great relief.

Don't be afraid to turn to your nearest and dearest to ask for help. It will show your vulnerability, but who says that's a bad thing? You both will appreciate it.

Everyone has different timetables and budgets. Whatever your circumstances, try to seize any opportunity that you have to see the world while you can.

Telling the truth can seem more painful than lying at times, but it is ultimately a far better option. Both in terms of their trust and your own inner peace, honesty is truly the best policy.
