In a tree house - While it might not be your first thought, there are some truly magical tree houses situated in lush forests which feature stunning views. Give the intimate event an ethereal feeling, and enjoy a nature escape at the same time. Plus, the event can have a rustic theme, filled with hikes and s'mores! In a zoo - If you love animals as much as your partner, a zoo is the place to tie the knot. The Calgary Zoo in Canada, for example,  offers several venues that include gardens with exotic birds and verandas looking out on to zebras and giraffes, making for an unforgettable event for people of all ages. The Edinburgh Zoo in the UK is a popular option for its on-site mansion, combining all-inclusive packages with magnificent views of nature's creatures as well as an elegant ceremony.

Top of a ski hill - Mass weddings are held annually on February 14 at the top of the Loveland Ski Area in Colorado, USA. After you say "I do," you can ski down! This pictured couple joined 74 others who pre-registered to get married on The Continental Divide, and after their noon ceremony, they were provided champagne at a mass reception.

In a barn - A converted barn is a great option for a wedding because of its huge space and romantic rural atmosphere. In a hot-air balloon - At the International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, USA, couples can get hitched in the air, and some balloon baskets can hold up to 12 passengers, so the bride, the groom, and their closest loved ones can fly together. The romantic atmosphere has been known to provide a backdrop for a relationship from the first date to the wedding, and Glamour reports that one couple, Michael and Mackenzie Chavez, had made regular trips to the Fiesta "to sit on the grass, see the balloons glow, and talk about the day we'd get married."

In a castle - If you've held fast to the fairy-tale idea of being married in a castle, the urban jungle of New York City actually has just the venue. The Belvedere Castle in Central Park, built in 1869, gives newlyweds panoramic views of the park and the city skyline. Though you can't get married inside, the terrace is just as magical and can fit up to 30 people.

In a castle - Located in Canada's Victoria, BC, the Hatley Castle historical grounds are the perfect location for a wedding, and it's also great for 'X-Men' fans, as that's where part of the films were shot. On a roller coaster - What better way to kick off the thrilling ride of marriage than tying the knot as you literally take the plunge? One couple in particular got married at Six Flags on the Superman ride, shouting their vows to their wedding party strapped in behind them, and yelling "I do" on the big drop. They said they loved giving their 140-person wedding party a fun vacation instead of a formal event.

Under the northern lights - There's nothing that will set a wedding apart more than a natural phenomenon that lights up the sky after you whisper sweet nuptials to one another, far from city life. The Blachford Lake Lodge is a great venue, located in Yellowknife, Canada, which allows a maximum of 36 guests, and offers all the details for a rustic and adventurous wedding. If planes aren't really your thing, there are also boats! The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is Canada's oldest and largest maritime museum, and offers high ceilings and beautiful views of the harbor, along with years and years of history.

The Tall Ship Silva is a Halifax schooner that ensures beautiful views, and the indoor banquet room and on-deck bar will take care of up to 150 guests as they dance beneath the stars. One couple chartered the ship after their on-land venue canceled on them, they recounted on Hitched, but it ended up being the best choice they made!

Next to a volcano - Celebrate your molten, gooey love in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, where you can get married with views of Kilauea Caldera, part of a live volcano with plumes of lava flaring against the sky.
