The rate of colorectal cancer in people under 50 years of age has been rising at an alarming rate in recent years. Although warnings are being issued in some countries urging people to get screened before the recommended age of 45, scientists and researchers are trying to uncover the root cause of the increase. One theory suggested is that food additives, which have grown in use in the food industry over the decades, could have something to do with it. But is there any evidence to back this up?
