Strangest fashion to ever hit the runways
The catwalk's least wearable looks

With every new season comes a fresh take on what the future holds for fashion. Over the years, with countless fashion shows and designers rotating on thousands of runways, it seems that the styles we know have all been exhausted (nearly every variation of pants, shirts, skirts, and dresses have been created), so much so that designers have had no other choice but to introduce some truly out-of-the-box ideas.
The term “ready-to-wear” has become something of a joke, and fashion houses are doing everything they can to stand out from the sea of increasingly experimental catwalks.
Runways are no longer places where people watch for new trends and pieces that they’d like to add to their own personal wardrobe. Rather, they’ve become places of fantasy and artistic expression, where anything goes and everything is fashion.
For an industry that is notoriously elitist and stereotyped as cutthroat and high-pressured, there are more than a few ridiculously hilarious things that have strutted down the runway. Designers have fixed some outrageous pieces on straight-faced models who must try to make them look high-fashion while also trying not to trip down the catwalk. After all, walking in heels in front of a huge audience is hard enough without balancing massive and unrealistic accessories.
From extra body parts to live animals and extremely illogical headpieces, check out this gallery to see some of the most wonderfully bizarre fashion to ever hit the runways.
