What is Ozempic? -

Ozempic, or semaglutide, is a prescription medication used by people with type 2 diabetes. Doctors also sometimes prescribe Ozempic off-label for weight loss or weight management. However, the drug is not FDA-approved for this purpose. Regardless, it's become a popular solution for many stars and the public is constantly speculating whenever a celebrity seems to lose weight rapidly.

Kathy Bates -

In October 2024, Kathy Bates revealed that she'd lost an incredible 100 lb (45 kg) since beginning her weight loss journey seven years earlier, following a type 2 diabetes diagnosis. She also addressed rumors that Ozempic was to thank for her physical transformation, but Bates explained that the majority was lost through lifestyle changes involving diet and exercise. The Oscar winner says she only used Ozempic to lose the last 20 lb (9 kg).

On an episode of 'The Kelly Clarkson Show,' Kelly Clarkson spoke about a medication she was taking that helps break down sugars. However, she didn't specify if the drug referenced was Ozempic or not.

Whoopi Goldberg -

Whoopi Goldberg revealed that she lost a significant amount of weight in recent years, and credited it to the type 2 diabetes/weight loss drug Mounjaro, which is similar to Ozempic. Goldberg spoke out against the stigma surrounding weight loss drugs and said that the “key is to stop judging everybody.”

Chelsea Handler told Alex Cooper on the 'Call Her Daddy' podcast that her anti-aging doctor hands it out to whoever. She says she tried it but isn't on it anymore. She said she is an "irresponsible" drug user and it is "not right for (her)."
