In the 2003 film 'Jersey Girl,' J.Lo played the deceased wife of Affleck's character. The film didn't perform well and only grossed US$36 million at the box office.

September 2003: They postponed their wedding -

Just a few days before the wedding, Ben and Jennifer released a joint statement: "Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date. When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate “decoy brides” at three different locations, we realized that something was awry." They went on to express their disappointment that the media frenzy had ruined what should have been a joyful and sacred moment in their lives.

January 22, 2004: The engagement is ended -

J.Lo's spokesperson confirmed in a report that Jennifer ended her engagement to Ben. The statement requested that everyone respect Jennifer's privacy.

June 2004: J.Lo moves on to Marc Anthony -

Marc Anthony and J.Lo were long-time friends and tied the knot in June of 2004. They then had twins, a daughter named Emme and a son named Max. They were together for 10 years before their divorce. She was later in a serious relationship with baseball player Alex Rodriguez between 2017 and 2021.

2005: Ben marries Jennifer Garner -

In 2005, Ben also moved on from J.Lo and married Jennifer Garner. They had three children over the next few years: two daughters, Violet and Seraphina, and a son, Samuel. They divorced in 2018.

April 2021: Bennifer reunites -

After Jennifer Lopez ended her engagement to Alex Rodriguez, she and Ben were spotted hanging out again. Ben had also recently split from Ana de Armas. Sources said that the two exes had always been friends.

Picking up where they left off nearly two decades earlier, J.Lo and Affleck were spotted in Montana during a weeklong trip. Sources said the two shared a strong connection.
