Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's daughter Vivienne is taking legal steps to remove "Pitt" from her surname.
The 18-year-old has submitted a petition to Los Angeles County Superior Court seeking to officially change her legal name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. According to court documents obtained by People, the reason cited for the change is listed as "personal."
A court hearing regarding Vivienne's petition is set to take place on November 2, per court documents.
The petition is the latest indication that Vivienne has been moving away from the Pitt name. Back in May 2024, Vivienne appeared in the playbill for Broadway's 'The Outsiders' as "Vivienne Jolie," a production she co-produced with her mother.
Vivienne is not the first among Jolie and Pitt's six children to take steps to remove "Pitt" from their name. Zahara is in the process of legally changing her name to Zahara Marley Jolie, and Maddox is requesting a name change to Maddox Chivan Jolie. Shiloh also filed paperwork in 2024 to eliminate Pitt from her name, changing it to Shiloh Jolie.
The wave of name changes follows years of reported tension between the children and Pitt, stemming from his contentious separation from Jolie in 2016 after a two-year marriage and approximately 12 years together as a couple.
