The rapper lost his Georgia home to foreclosure in 2012. Nas originally purchased it for US$585,000 and sold for just under US$400,000.

The ‘Un-Break My Heart’ singer filed for bankruptcy twice. Braxton first lost one property in Nevada and then lost her Georgia home to foreclosure after reportedly failing 10 monthly payments.

In 2010, the hip hop mogul lost his New York duplex at a foreclosure sale for US$5.5 million. This was after Dash failed to pay US$78,504 per month on a US$7.3 million mortgage.

The singer lost her Las Vegas condo to foreclosure in 2009. LaToya allegedly owed US$750,000 to the bank.

Jermaine Jackson -

LaToya isn’t the only member of the Jackson family to have undergone a foreclosure. Her brother Jermaine also went through a similar situation in California. The difference being that Jermaine was renting the house that went on foreclosure because the owner failed to make payments.

Kate Gosselin -

The TV personality struggled financially after her expensive divorce and lack of work, so she had to put her house up for sale. In 2021 Kate Gosselin sold her Pennsylvania home for US$1.1 million. It may seem like a lot of money, but it was actually US$214,000 less than the initial asking price.

Michael Vick -

In 2007, dozens of dogs were found in the former football quarterback’s property. Vick was using them for dogfighting, for which he served a two-year jail sentence. Vick’s Atlanta home went up for auction, and then in 2011 his Virginia home (where the dogfights took place) was bought by animal rights group Dogs Deserve Better.

O.J. Simpson -

O.J. Simpson’s Miami home was foreclosed after he went to prison. The estate was bought by an investment company for US$513,000 in 2012. The property was then destroyed in 2022 and the parcel of land listed for sale. However, it was removed from the market in 2023.

In 2016, the TV personality’s US$170,000 New Jersey home sold for just US$100 at a foreclosure auction.

The singer had his Detroit home foreclosed in 2012. Sweat got a US$450,000 mortgage in 2004, but the bank only managed to sell the house for US$200,000.

The ‘Happy Days' actress lost her Palmdale, California house in 2010. The house went into foreclosure after Moran amassed a debt of US$315,000. The house was then sold for about US$290,000.

The singer, also known for being the daughter of Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, lost her home to foreclosure in 2011. Wilson owed $1.6 million to the bank.

The rapper stopped paying his Houston, Texas mansion, so in 2010 it was foreclosed. Chamillionaire bought the mansion in 2006 for US$2.2 million and it sold at auction for US$1.8 million.

The former NBA player lost two houses in two years. First, his mansion in Denver was foreclosed and sold at auction in 2011. Then in 2013, Iverson’s Atlanta home sold at auction for US$2.5 million, which was about half of what he paid for it originally.
