Hayden Panettiere died from an accidental overdose involving fentanyl and several other drugs, the Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed on September 22. The 36-year-old ‘Heroes’ and ‘Nashville’ actress was found unresponsive at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina, on August 16.
The coroner listed her cause of death as the toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam (Xanax), methocarbamol (Robaxin), and quetiapine (Seroquel). Panettiere was found in cardiac arrest, and paramedics were unable to resuscitate her. Her death has officially been ruled an accident.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the drugs found at the residence and how Panettiere obtained them. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has also been involved in the investigation.
Indeed, drug addiction has been the downfall of many famous faces. Whether intentionally or by accident, a fatal overdose is a tragic end. Unfortunately, the list of celebrities who have lost their lives to drug dependency continues to grow.
