How do we feel about the Barbie renaissance?

The Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie has revived interest in the iconic childhood toy that many of us left behind in the '90s. Barbie's popularity understandably waned in recent decades as she became the poster child for lack of diversity. Indeed, she's skinny, white, blonde, and almost always dressed in her signature shade of pink. But despite past issues, Mattel has been making a concerted effort to make Barbie a better representative, offering dolls in a range of skin tones and with inspiring new messages.
At the same time, celebrities of all genders, races, and body types have been playing with the Barbie aesthetic.
The Barbie look includes any and all of the following: towering platform heels, miniskirts, long gloves, retro sunglasses, and, of course, that bright pink color that almost hurts to look at. It's an over-the-top girlie look that's almost ironic, but not always...
