Pete Davidson has been open about his struggles with mental illness and addiction for many years. The young comedian lost his father when he was seven years old, a traumatic incident he connects his mental health issues. His dad was a firefighter killed in the line of duty during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York. While he has struggled with depression throughout his life, his most recent diagnoses have been for PTSD and borderline personality disorder. On June 29, 2023, sources told news outlets that Davidson had checked into a rehab facility to receive psychiatric treatment for these disorders. He was only expected to spend a short time there.

The 29-year-old has certainly been under stress, which may have exacerbated his condition. He was charged with reckless driving in relation to a March 4, 2023 incident in which he crashed his car into a Beverly Hills home. No one was injured in the accident. Davidson was ordered to enter an 18-month diversion program that included 50 hours of community service. In addition, the actor was expected to complete 12 hours of traffic school and appear at a morgue or hospital for educational purposes.

The actress said it was described as an "extreme case," and hinted that it stemmed from her brutal cancelation in 2017 after she posted a photo of herself holding a Trump mask styled to look like a decapitated head. "The cancer didn't help," she added. Griffin was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2021 and had to undergo surgery to remove half of her left lung. "I have lots of tools, but it is extremely intense," Griffin, 62, wrote in the caption. "I've never experienced anything like this in my life."

On April 14, Griffin shared another TikTok video in which she described an eight-hour panic attack she suffered the previous day. She asked her followers for tips on coping with anxiety and depression, sharing that she finds her four dogs to be a great source of relief.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental disorder that may be diagnosed if someone experiences persistent anxiety and post-traumatic stress symptoms after a traumatic event. It is commonly associated with soldiers returning from war, but it can affect anyone who experiences trauma in their life. And it can happen to any of us, celebrities included.
