Celebrities who filed for divorce at 50 and beyond

Actress and Food Network star Valerie Bertinelli let the world know at age 62 that she was single and loving it. She posted a video to Twitter on Nov. 22 to celebrate the news that her divorce was finalized, adding the caption “11.22.22 second best day of my life.” Bertinelli married Tom Vitale back in 2011. Signs of trouble in paradise surfaced in 2022 when she shared online that she was selling a few personal items, including "a couple of Tiffany rings that have some bad memories attached and a pair of shoes I wore to a wedding in January 2011."

“On 11/22/22, I am officially divorced. Happily divorced. God, finally. It’s finally over," she exclaimed in her Twitter post, explaining that she had just gotten the call from her lawyer to confirm the papers were signed and the divorce was final.

Kevin Costner's wife Christine Baumgartner files for divorce after 18 years of marriage

Kevin Costner is set to be a single man at 68 years old, as his wife of 18 years, Christine Baumgartner, has filed for divorce, reports People. The actor's representative said in a statement, "It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action."

The pair were married in September 2004 and share three children together. Costner also has four older children from previous relationships. The news of the divorce may seem sudden, as it was only in November 2022 that Costner spoke so lovingly of Baumgartner to People: "My wife does things that just completely... It just helps. The house is prettier because of her. Everything is warmer because of her. There's these little things that she does and I think it's the power of love, but that she makes her home that way," he said.

Costner isn't the only celeb to begin the single life well after age 50. Several well-known names from the entertainment world also ended up divorcing in their later years, some after many years of happiness together.
