Many couples saw their weddings being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was, however, not a problem for many famous duos. Perhaps a smaller, more intimate ceremony was exactly what they were looking for. Since March 2020, there have been quite a few celeb couples who have tied the knot. Some went public about it, while others not so much.
'Succession' star Sarah Snook had the most optimal lockdown imaginable. In an interview with Vogue Australia, she revealed that while the world fell into pandemic, she fell in love, proposed, and got married to her "best mate," Australian comedian Dave Lawson. “At the beginning of the pandemic last year, I got locked down in Melbourne with one of my best mates and we fell in love,” she explained. “We’ve been friends since 2014, lived together, traveled together, always excited to see each other, but totally platonic. We’ve just never been single at the same time.” With the opportunity arriving in an intense lockdown setting, their relationship took the next level, and Snook proposed to and quietly married Lawson in February.
The ceremony was intimate and in Snook's backyard in Brooklyn, with her housemates and her 'Succession' co-star Ash Zukerman serving as witnesses. She wore a vintage velvet Chloé coat, and the bride and groom wore matching Blundstone boots. “It’s been a ride," the actress said. "There’s so much heartache and sadness in the world, but on a micro personal level, I’ve been very fortunate. There’s a really lovely grace in that without the pandemic, we might not have ended up together so quickly.”
