Princess Anne is the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II, and the sister of King Charles III. The Princess Royal has lived a rather eventful life, and even now in her seventies, she's one of the hardest working members of the royal family. Almost every year she beats the rest of the royals with the number of engagements she attends and public duties she performs. Despite that, Anne has remained one of the lesser-known members of the family, and many aren't aware of her story or her dedication.
One thing Princess Anne is known for is her love of horses. In fact, she competed in the equestrian event at the Olympics in 1976. Now 73, the Princess Royal still loves horses and keeps them at her home, Gatcombe Park Estate in Gloucestershire. On June 24, Buckingham Palace revealed that Anne had sustained injuries in an incident with a horse at Gatcombe Park the previous day and was receiving treatment at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. The Princess sustained a head injury and concussion, and it's believed she was either kicked or headbutted by a horse while walking. She is expected to make a full recovery but has been advised to remain in hospital for a few days for observation. She will miss her royal duties for the coming week, including a planned trip to Canada.
Let's take a look back at the exceptional life of Princess Anne and see what she's up to nowadays when she's in the full of her health. Click through the gallery to get started.
