Brooke Shields has opened up about how her relationship with sex and her body has changed throughout her life. She says, "I live much more in my body now than I ever did. My body actually feels like it belongs to me. And I can't say that about my youth." Shields revealed that she used to be terrified of sex in her twenties and only had sex for the first time at 22. She says that her thirties were a 10-year journey to developing confidence in her body, and that, "It wasn't until my forties that I started thinking of sex as my experience, not someone else's experience that I just navigated." Shields has two teenage daughters and she wants them to feel more in control than she did. She says she never wants them to feel used or ashamed, but to know that sex is a joint decision.
