The draw that fans feel towards famous couples is often amplified when dealing with queer couples. That's due to the representation they offer, and their subsequent status as role models, whether they like it or not. While such representation isn't all that rare today, it certainly was previously, even as recently as the '90s and early 2000s.
When 'White Lotus' star Lukas Gage and celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton got married in Vegas in May, they were the queer "it" couple of the season. With Kim Kardashian officiating and Shania Twain serving as the wedding singer, what could go wrong? Sadly, Appleton has filed for divorce from Gage, citing irreconcilable differences and a separation date of November 10. The couple had been married for almost seven months. Neither party has publicly addressed their split so far. While the relationship may have burned out rather quickly, it certainly shined bright while it lasted.
