In 2022, at the age of 34, Rihanna was named America’s youngest self-made billionaire woman, ranking 21st overall on Forbes' annual list of America’s richest self-made women. From that list, she was the only billionaire under the age of 40. The pop star and beauty mogul is worth an estimated US$1.4 billion. Rihanna has previously been named the richest female musician in the world by Forbes in August 2021, which made her the second richest female entertainer in the world after Oprah.
All this comes as no surprise, considering everything the singer-turned-entrepreneur has accomplished during these past years. The 'Umbrella' and 'Diamonds' singer—who started her career in 2005 with the song 'Pon de Replay'—has made her fortune thanks to the music industry, but also largely due to her three retail companies: Fenty Beauty cosmetics, Fenty Skin, and Savage X Fenty lingerie line. Unlike controversial stars who have been given the title "self-made billionaire" in the past, Rihanna didn't grow up in the lap of luxury and privilege, but instead made her own name in the world of music and fashion.
What's more, in 2019 she told The New York Times’ Magazine that she wants to give her riches away to causes that matter. “My money is not for me; it’s always the thought that I can help someone else,” she said. “The world can really make you believe that the wrong things are priority, and it makes you really miss the core of life, what it means to be alive.”
While she may not be focused on the money at the moment, she certainly is making a lot of it! Curious to know how spends her enormous salary? Click through this gallery!
