After sparking reconciliation rumors in April, Ashanti and Nelly confirmed their relationship status in the fall of 2023. The R&B singer and the rapper first began dating in 2003 and were together on and off until 2013. Ten years later, they rekindled their romance—a happy accident that neither of them saw coming, as Nelly revealed in a September interview. A few months later, the news broke that Ashanti was expecting a baby with Nelly and that the couple was engaged. However, court records show that they actually signed the marriage papers at the end of 2023! In August 2024, Ashanti revealed that they welcomed their son, Kareem Kenkaide Haynes, on July 18. This is the 43-year-old's first child, while Nelly shares an adult son and daughter with his ex, Channetta Valentine.

Famed rapper Da Brat gave birth to her first child with wife Jesseca "Judy" Harris-Dupart in July 2023, at the ages of 49 and 41, respectively. "I can't BELIEVE he came out of me!" the star told People of her newborn son, named True. "Feels like a dream. He's PERFECT in every way." She added that she's feeling "Very appreciative for such a blessing of our bundle of joy," and said, "This journey has been more amazing than we could've ever imagined." The couple used IVF to conceive with an egg from Harris-Dupart and sperm from an anonymous donor.

Naomi Campbell is notoriously private when it comes to her personal life, and it was a surprise to us all in 2021 when she revealed that she had just welcomed her first baby at age 50. She stated in an interview that her daughter "wasn’t adopted – she’s my child.”  This led to speculation that she had used a surrogate, but it's certainly not impossible that she carried the baby herself. On June 29, 2023, Campbell shared the news that she welcomed her second child, a baby boy, at the age of 53. "A True Gift from God, blessed! Welcome Babyboy," she wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of herself holding a newborn's hand, with another smaller hand reaching out, presumably that of her daughter. "It’s never too late to become a mother," she concluded.

Campbell had expressed her desire to be a mother in the past, including in 2017 when she told the Evening Standard, "I think about having children all the time...But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want." And she has! Campbell has kept the details of her journey to motherhood private, including her children's names. Vogue reported that she's saving the story for a memoir she plans to write.
