Mara Wilson wants to know why Canadians aren’t more excited about Canada winning the team figure skating event at the Winter Olympics.
The former child actor who appeared in films like ‘Matilda’ and ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ is surprised Canadians aren’t getting more riled up on social media.
“I follow a lot of Canadians but have heard NOTHING about figure skating from them,” she tweeted.I follow a lot of Canadians but have heard NOTHING about figure skating from them

She also found it odd that Americans, after only winning bronze in the event, were more excited than their Canadian neighbours, whose team had won gold.
“Here on US Twitter we are losing our shit but you guys won Gold and it’s fairly quiet”.

Except Canadians were talking about the win and the Olympics in general, with the Games easily cracking the top four trending topics in Canada.
Clearly, as one fan pointed out, Wilson is “following the wrong people”.

Top 4 trending topics are all Olympics. Figure skating is just down a bit because it happened last night. We also won a silver in snowboard slope style right after the figure skating ???? pic.twitter.com/f8dlksbjaq
But, yes, figure skating is not hockey. Even Wilson is sure to hear her Canadian friends chime in there.
