Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes, married from 2003 to 2011, each won an Oscar: Mendes for Best Director for 'American Beauty' (2000) and Winslet for Best Actress in 'The Reader' (2008).

Kathryn Bigelow and James Cameron, married from 1989 to 1991, made Oscars history in 2010 when Bigelow won Best Director for 'The Hurt Locker' (2008), triumphing over Cameron's nomination for 'Avatar' (2009). Cameron has won three awards for his films.

Paul Newman, who passed away in 2008, earned 12 Oscar nominations, winning three. His wife, Joanne Woodward, won Best Actress for 'The Three Faces of Eve' (1957), the year they married.

Julie Andrews won the Oscar for Best Actress for 'Mary Poppins' (1964), the same year her first husband, Tony Walton, earned a nomination. Walton later won for 'All That Jazz' (1979).
