Sometimes celebs don’t get to hog the spotlight. Quite a few actors and filmmakers have tied at award ceremonies, sharing the stage, the prize, and the glory. Do you remember these unusual moments from the Oscars or Golden Globes? You'll find both recent examples and historic ones from way back in this gallery.

Let's start with the Oscars. The first Academy Awards tie occurred in 1932, when Fredric March (left) and Wallace Beery (right) won Best Actor for 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' and 'The Champ' respectively.

In 1950, James L. Shute was honored for 'A Chance to Live,' and Chuck Jones (pictured) received the award for 'So Much for So Little.' Both films won Best Documentary Short.

In 1969, a well-known Oscar tie occurred when Barbra Streisand and Katharine Hepburn both won the Best Actress award.

Two films were awarded Best Documentary in 1987. Brigitte Berman's 'Time Is All You've Got' and Lee Grant's 'Down and Out' were both winners that year.

In 1985 two underdog films both won the prize for Best Short Film. Peter Capaldi (left) won for 'Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life,' while Peggy Rajski (right) was honored for 'Trevor.'

The last Oscar tie happened in 2013, when 'Zero Dark Thirty' and 'Skyfall' both won in the Best Sound Editing category. Paul N.J. Ottosson (left) tied with Per Hallberg (right) and Karen Baker Landers (center) shared the prize.

Now let's move on to the Golden Globes. The first tie happened in 1948, when 'Johnny Belinda' (top) won Best Picture alongside 'The Treasure of the Sierra Madre' (bottom).

The year is 1976. Co-stars George Burns (right) and Walter Matthau (left) share the Best Actor award for their roles in 'The Sunshine Boys.' They were both co-stars in the movie.

Diane Keaton (left) received the award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for 'Annie Hall,' in 1979. She shared the award with Marsha Mason (right) for her role in 'The Goodbye Girl.'

A year later, Ellen Burstyn (right) and Maggie Smith (left) both won the award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy, just like in '78. Talk about coincidence!

In 1984, Tom Courtenay (left) and Robert Duvall (right) jointly won the award for Best Actor in a Drama.

The year 1989 was a memorable one! Michael J. Fox (left), Richard Mulligan (center), and Judd Hirsch (right) made history when they shared the award for Best Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy.

And it happened twice in the same night too! Jodie Foster (left), Shirley MacLaine (center), and Sigourney Weaver (right) won Best Actress in a Drama together.

Now for the Critics' Choice Awards. The event has numerous ties throughout its history, starting in 1996 when Ed Harris (left) and Kevin Spacey (right) both won the award for Best Supporting Actor.

In 1999, both Pixar and Dreamworks won the award for Best Animated Feature. 'A Bug's Life' (top) was the winner for Pixar and 'The Prince of Egypt' for Dreamworks.

In the same year, two talented women received the award for Best Supporting Actress. Joan Allen (right) won for her role in 'Pleasantville,' while Kathy Bates (left) took home the trophy for 'Primary Colors.'

In 2002, Ron Howard (left) and Baz Luhrmann (right) won the trophy for Best Director. Howard was honored for 'A Beautiful Mind,' while Luhrmann won for 'Moulin Rouge.'

The next year, two giants graced the stage together in a tie for the Best Actor award. Day-Lewis (right) was honored for 'Gangs of New York' and Nicholson (left) for his role in 'About Schmidt.'

Amy Adams (left) and Michelle Williams (right) were awarded Best Supporting Actress in 2006 for their roles in 'Junebug' and 'Brokeback Mountain.'

After working together in 'The Devil Wears Prada,' Streep (left) and Hathaway (right) were both awarded Best Actress in 2008. Streep was honored for 'Doubt' and Hathaway for 'Rachel Getting Married'

And in 2010, Streep (left) once again shared the trophy for Best Actress. This time with Sandra Bullock (right).

Janusz Kaminski (left) and Emmanuel Lubezki (right) both won the award for Best Cinematography in 2012. Kaminski was honored for his work on 'War Horse' and Lubezki for 'The Tree of Life'

The two writers competed for the prize in 2016. But both Chazelle (right) and Lonergan (left) ended up winning the award for Best Original Screenplay.

There were two great ties at the 2019 show. First, Amy Adams (left) and Patricia Arquette (right) both won Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television. And also these two remarkable women...

An aspiring actress competed against a seasoned one—and both won! Gaga (right) took home the award for best actress for 'A Star Is Born,' while Close (left) was recognized for her role in 'The Wife.'

And here we are in 2020 with three ties to report. Starting with the award for Best Director, both Bong Joon Ho (left) and Sam Mendes (right) were honored for the films 'Parasite' and '1917,' respectively.

And it was a tie for songwriters Elton John and Jessie Buckley too! Both '(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again' rom 'Rocketman' and 'Glasgow (No Place Like Home)' from 'Wild Rose' won the award for best song.

Two talk shows were also the critics' favorites. NBC's 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' (left) and CBS' 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' (right) shared the prize for Best Talk Show.

The 2021 iteration was a mix of an in-person and virtual event. And these two shared the award for Best Film Editing for 'Sound of Metal' (left) and 'The Trial of the Chicago 7' (right).

These two comedians celebrated their wins from home too. Michelle Buteau (left) and Seinfeld (right) received the award for Best Comedy Special for the shows 'Welcome to Buteaupia' and '23 Hours to Kill,' both on Netflix.
