Things stayed clean on Haddish's worst date—too clean. "I went on a date with a guy to wash his clothes," she told TMZ. They got dinner, "and then we went to the laundry house and washed [his] clothes." When the reporter said that it wasn't so bad, Haddish replied, "That's horrible. I'm not no damn maid."

The date got even worse retrospectively because Cibrian's intentions for the date became apparent some days later. "[He contacted me] to ask if I could get him an audition on one of my dad's shows," Spelling, who's the daughter of late TV producer Aaron Spelling, said. "That always put a bad taste in my mouth." Worse than puke?

▲

The actress had a good date go bad when she was kissing a "super handsome" man in his car after he drove her home from their "lovely" dinner. "He pulled away and he whispered, 'Make out with my nose,'" she said on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' "I didn't want to, like, mess it up, so I gave him a little peck on the nose, and he was like, 'No, make out with it.'"

▲

Spelling hadn't eaten because she'd been "so nervous" about the date, but the drinks started rolling. "I ended up getting wasted," she said. "So wasted that I went to go to the bathroom and walked into the kitchen by mistake and threw up in the back of the kitchen." He ended up taking her home. "I think he did kiss me and I was like, 'Ugh, I hope I don't have puke breath.'"

▲

The actress described her worst sort-of date ever on 'Today' and said a man had just entered her apartment on her first ever "booty call" when he "collapsed three steps in." She added, "He broke all of his front teeth. They flew across my apartment. He split his chin open and collapsed."

The Disney alums' former fling didn't last very long, and perhaps now we know why. Gomez called into the Jonas brother's Radio 1 interview to tease him about the time he stayed about 20 feet away from her during a romantic stroll in NYC in a futile attempt to keep their relationship under wraps.

▲

Mindy Kaling's wires got crossed and resulted in the worst kind of date: the one that isn't. On Reddit, the writer and actress explained that she was "super excited" to go out with a guy she was "really attracted to," but it soon became apparent that it wasn't a date. "He was just a straight dude who was psyched to have dinner with me in a platonic way. He talked about an actress he really wanted to date and we split the check."

▲

Emma Watson is a known activist who has spoken out against body shaming, but in 2013 Watson told The Telegraph about going out with someone who did not know his audience. "The worst date I've ever been on was a guy who told me he couldn't be friends with fat people or anyone who was unattractive," she said. "I realized pretty quickly that he was a nutter."

▲

Back when he was just 16 and still clumsy with puberty, Bieber messed up a date, and her outfit. "I took a girl out for a first date to an Italian restaurant and spilled spaghetti all over her. It was terrible and embarrassing," he told Girl's Life at the time. "She never went out with me again."

▲

Even Disney alums get nervous. "I'm a very sweaty guy," Dylan Sprouse told Elle. He recalled wearing a light green shirt to a date and having nervous armpit sweat "all the way down to my waist." He said everyone he's ever dated could probably confirm.

▲

Kelly Clarkson's worst date shot himself in the foot—not literally, but he was definitely preoccupied with feet. "He was 5' 2", and I'm 5' 3"," the singer said on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show.' "Obviously, I went out with you, so it didn't bother me. But he proceeded to talk about his height for like a solid hour." Clarkson actually stayed for an hour of it, "And then I… I went to the bathroom and I left… I couldn't take it."

▲

Some people think the scary movie route is the best for dates, but Camila Cabello is not one of those people. Her date took her, as a surprise, to see the movie 'Ouija Board.' "I think he thought that it was going to be super cute, and that he'd be making the moves on me because I was scared. But [in this theater] you could lay down, and there were blankets. I literally just had the blanket over my head the whole time." At least it was a fancy theater!

Tori Spelling revealed on the ‘ReWives with Bethenny Frankel’ podcast that she once dated actor Eddie Cibrian when she was in her twenties and starring on ‘Beverly Hills, 90210.’ They’d known each other as kids but reconnected as adults, and went to a restaurant. But Cibrian said he wasn’t hungry, and Spelling couldn’t help but agree when he suggested they just get drinks instead.

▲

The actress recalled a blind date someone set her up on that proves not everyone is looking for a knight in shining armor. "He comes around the corner inside the restaurant, and this dude is dressed in full chainmail," Slate shared on the podcast 'Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso.' "He's got a full authentic knight's costume on," for which he also insisted she use the right terminology. "His chainmail is like getting caught on stuff ... I'm mortified, and also just mad. He's trying my pasta with the chainmail clinking across and stuff, it's insane," she shared.

▲

The actress told Vogue she was once on a date at a restaurant with a guy who ordered "One steak, for both of us" and ordered it well done. "I was like, 'How dare you? Who eats a well-done steak?!' That's like eating a bed." It gets worse: he then cut it up "into baby pieces, like one would do for a small bird." Despite his controlling behavior and "hyper intellectualism," she saw him a couple more times until finally realizing she wasn't herself around him and called it quits.

▲

Billie Eilish recalled a movie date she went on when she was 13 that set the bar very, very low. "He kissed me and then he said, 'That was not as magical as I thought it would be,'" Eilish told Howard Stern. "He was super rich, and his butler—literally his butler—[took him home]. He left and I was stuck there, no one told me they were going to leave … Dude is hella ugly now." Karma?

▲

The actress recounted her worst date on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' and it started with a man who spent the entire dinner complaining about the restaurant's prices, which she said weren't unreasonable. He began mansplaining how he could prepare food for much cheaper at home, as if that wasn't obvious. But then it got weirder…

People sometimes like to keep their options open while dating, but usually it's bad taste to do it in front of their date! Troye Sivan shared in a 2018 interview with PopCrush that he'd once met up with a guy on a dating app and upon meeting, the guy opened Grindr and started exploring other options. "I was like, 'Okay. I think I'm just gonna go home.'"

▲

"As we approach my building he's like, 'So… I got this thing in my bag,'" she explained. "'I got it from this guy at work. It's like a—um—it's this thing, it's in my bag. Well, it's a ring.'" McCarthy was, reasonably, confused, but she soon found out that "it's not a ring for your finger or your toes." And that's not even the worst part, as she added, "And he got it from his friend at work, it's not even new!"

▲

The actress made a poor movie choice on her first date with a college love interest. She explained on 'What What Happens Live' that they went to see 'Mississippi Burning,' an "intense" film about the civil rights movement. "I burst into tears after, like, the first three minutes and sobbed uncontrollably through the entire movie," she said. "And we didn't really know each other like that, so he was just [awkwardly] like, 'there, there,' the whole movie. And it was at college and we just, like, avoided each other for four years."

▲

The singer told PopBuzz about a date who so badly needed to be the center of attention. "We went out to get crepes and on the receipt the waitress had written 'your girl is like sunshine,'" which immediately upset her date. "He was like, 'I just don't know why nobody thinks I'm the sunshine!' … It was the craziest, and just devolved from there."

▲

It's common knowledge to dress up a little for a date, especially if it's with Michael Kors. The designer was reasonably upset by a bad date in his twenties where he went to a "really chic, fashionable restaurant" and wore a simple "nice shirt and jeans." But the date didn't get the memo. "My date showed up in cutoffs and a tank top. I knew half the people in the restaurant, who were all looking at me like, 'Who is this guy with Michael Kors?' It was so embarrassing."

▲

The Destiny's Child alum told The Huffington Post that she's equally to blame for her worst date ever. It was at the movies, and she recounted, "I fell asleep on his shoulder, and I slobbered and snored. That was pretty bad," Rowland confessed. "But he shouldn't have taken me to see 'There's Something About Mary' for my third time."

▲

Being rude to the waiter is a red flag, and Lilly Singh knows it. "Once I went on a date and this dude just yelled at the waiter because he forgot his dipping sauce. I'm just like, 'My uterus fell out,'" the TV host said in a video for Vogue. And Singh is no stranger to bad dates. "I've [gone] on dates where the guy doesn't even ask me any questions. He'll just talk on, and on, and on about his gym routine," she added.

▲

Ellie Kemper always appears so bright and cheerful, but her worst date was just the opposite. "The worst was a setup, a blind date," the actress told Glamour. "This particular guy was rude and was much older than I was. He seemed pained to be there. I was like, 'Why would this person even want to go on a date?'"

"I was on a date with a guy once, and he wasn't aware that I could see his cell phone," the 'Pretty Little Liars' actress told Glamour, "and he was actually texting romantic messages to another girl!"

▲

Bowling is always a cute date idea, until it isn't. The singer once recalled going on a double date—even worse, as there were more witnesses—where she got a little carried away. "I accidentally threw the ball the wrong way—backward. It was so embarrassing. They were like, 'Yeah, she's so uncool.'"

▲

"She was unhappy that her Central Park experience was ruined by the fact that I walked about 20 feet away from her, even though they were taking pictures of us and obviously we were there together," Nick confessed. "I was like, 'It'd be better if we stood about 25 feet apart.'"

▲

When she was a burgeoning socialite, Kim Kardashian's bar was understandably a little lower than it must be today. She reportedly once revealed that on her first date with football player Reggie Bush, she had to pick him up from a local car wash before they had their romantic dinner…at Chipotle. Apparently it wasn't so bad, since they continued to date.
