Back in 2010, the singer shut down pregnancy speculations on Twitter by making reference to her period. "ur gonna make me cry, maybe that's my period tho. THAT'S RIGHT I'M BLEEDING. Face. Better luck next month peepz," she tweeted.
Though Allen also believed this was one of the reasons why the song wasn't a single. The song "got the word 'period' in it, which is really offensive to people, even though half the world has to deal with it once a month," she shared.
Lily Allen is proud of her song 'Sheezus,' which mentions the word "period." The singer called it groundbreaking. "I'm proud of that. It's f*****g awesome," she said.
Though Lovato didn't take it too seriously. "I have a pretty good sense of humor, so on one hand, I was totally embarrassed, and on the other, I thought it was awesome."
The singer recalls how embarrassing it was for them when they had their first period. Mainly because of their family's reaction. "My sister folded a poster board in half and made a card out of it and drew pictures, and it said, 'Happy Period Day!' She drew stick figures and kisses, and she used red markers," Lovato explained.
Kaling also wrote an essay directed at teens that touched on the subject. "Your bodies develop so much faster now. Thanks to genetic modification and hormone injections, the meat that's around now is basically making you all into Marvel Comics mutants. You get your periods at what, like 8? You have double-D boobs at 9? How cool is that?" she wrote.
The actress and screenwriter had her first period in ninth grade, but was ashamed of not having it earlier. "I spent all of eighth grade faking that I had my period, down to sticking Kotex in my underwear in case anyone needed proof," she said.
The 'Fifty Shades' actress has a rough time every month. "Every time, I'm totally scandalized about what happens to my body and my brain. My boobs are like eight times the size they normally are. It's really a traumatic thing, and it happens every month," she said.
The singer took to Twitter multiple times to share her thoughts on the matter. "It's sad that there are prob folks more grossed out by and/or ashamed of menstrual period blood than they are the current administration," Monáe tweeted while Donald Trump was still president.
Kendall Jenner posted a video on Instagram where Gigi Hadid opens up to her. "My boobs are small right now. They get really big when it's, like, that time of the month," Hadid said.
"Know every woman's body is different and deals with pain, cramps, bleeding differently. So work out what is best for you," she advised.
The singer supported Action Aid's campaign to put an end to period poverty and revealed that she struggled with heavy and painful periods growing up.
"There were days when you’d just think, 'Oh, my God, I’ve got my period and I can’t get in that freezing-cold water today.' I remember standing up and saying to everyone, 'Listen, if it suddenly looks like 'Jaws,' the movie, it’s my fault'," she explained.
The actress opened up about how hard it was to shoot some scenes in 'Titanic' (1997) while she was on her period.
The body positivity activist and actress has no problem in talking openly about menstruation.
"I've got spots today because my period is due next week," she said during an interview. "I'm fine with the fact those might show up in the photoshoot," Jamil added.
When asked about what she was wearing during the 2016 Emmys, Schumer replied: ""Vivienne Westwood, Tom Ford shoes and an OB Tampon."
The actress also opened up about her struggles with PMS. "I need a lot of alone time. Right now I'm getting my period, and I just don't like [my boyfriend], you know? My PMS is no joke … And it’s directed only toward him, but instead of being in denial about that, we try to work with it. Tonight's vibe is 'I don't want you to even look at me or talk to me,' and ... he's understanding. He's too good about it. It actually annoys me," Schumer said.
