Catharsis comes from the Greek word katharsis, which can be translated to "release" or "purification." In essence, it's all about achieving some sort of emotional relief. It's about expressing and releasing certain emotions that are somehow bothering us. Emotional tension builds up, and many times all we need to do to feel better is to find a way to discharge this tension. Having the tools to achieve catharsis is a great way to keep your mental health in check.
