Technology is a wonderful thing and can indeed be a godsend in certain occasions, but like anything else, too much of it can be harmful. This is particularly true for children, who are now born into a world dominated by tech.
Restricting your kids' screen time and use of technology can be hard, but it's not impossible. Many celebrity parents do exactly that, and some have very peculiar methods!
For Victoria Beckham, that means keeping her daughter away from social media while she goes through puberty. Speaking to Vogue Australia, the former Spice Girl recently shared that she's worried about her 10-year-old daughter Harper's self-esteem once she goes online. “Harper isn’t on social media, so we don’t have to worry about [body-shaming] just yet,” she shared. “But seeing how cruel people can be, yes, it really does [concern me].”
The fashion designer believes that strong communication within the family and making sure Harper surrounds herself with good people will be key to build a strong self-esteem that can withstand things like social media trolls. “But it is quite terrifying, I can’t lie," she added.
