A medical student was working late and alone in the morgue while his professor was doing paperwork in another building.
He suddenly heard the morgue freezer alarm go off. It was a motion activated alarm, only triggered when movement is detected inside the locked freezer room to ensure no one gets trapped in there.
A student worked part time as a night watchman at a Toys "R" Us store. The place was always a little strange. Lights flickering on and off, toys falling off the shelf, strange noises at night, etc.
One night, he decided to try an experiment. He focused on a red balloon in the store and said "if there is a ghost here, then that balloon, the red one in the middle of the roof will pop."
The balloon burst just as he was finishing his sentence. He turned on all the lights and waited right by the door until his shift was over!
The employees at a youth rehab facility told the new guy about the resident ghost, Amanda. It was rumored that a girl named Amanda hung herself at the center years ago, and was sometimes spotted in the corridors at night.
A few months later, the new guy was on the night shift when he saw a sad-looking girl sitting with her knees against her chest in the hallway. He went to help her but got distracted by a noise behind him.
A dedicated employee paid a visit to their high-security office late one Saturday night to get some work done. All doors in the building required personalized key passes.
He became suspicious when he saw someone on the other side of the building that he didn't recognize, and decided to lock himself in his office. The intruder came to his door and tried to open it several times before giving up.
He later found out that the intruder was using a stolen keycard to rob the office building.
The job of many a movie theater janitor involves cleaning the empty theater at 4 am when no one is around. The one rule is that no one goes into the projection booth.
One janitor says that when you're cleaning the theater it always feels as if someone is watching you from the projection booth.
There were even occasions where he looked up and saw someone standing looking down from the booth, but when he went up to catch the person there was no one there.
An overnight security guard was sitting in front of his monitors as usual on a quiet night. All of a sudden, he heard the sounds of a woman screaming as if she was being murdered.
He couldn't see anything on his monitors so he ran to search the building. The screams seemed to be coming from the back of the building, near the parking lot.
A nature photographer was stationed at a waterfall for several hours after dark. Once he'd captured his photos he started to make his way back up the trail in the dark.
With his flashlight he noticed human footprints that led into the bushes. All of a sudden he heard a blood-curdling scream and he ran like the wind.
He informed the local rangers immediately but nothing was ever found, nor were there any missing persons reported in the area.
The overnight staff at a a residential treatment center for teens have reported some very strange activity.
The center used to be a nunnery and is still connected to a church. Sometimes, they hear a woman singing through the intercom. They could see through the door window that there was no one there!
A control operator was working alone overnight. At 3 am he noticed something on the camera pointed at the back door of the building.
The employee went to peek out the back door and there was no one there. When he returned to his station, the person in the mask walked in front of the camera again, waved at him, and then walked away!
A student was studying late at the computer lab, all alone. The lab was two floors underground and sometimes called "the dungeon."
He went down the corridor to get some water at around 2 am. The motion sensor lights at the far end of the corridor suddenly turned on. He ran out of there when he saw something move in the darkness between him and the light.
