According to attachment theory, due to our past and upbringing as children, we fall into one of three categories of attachment in adult relationships. These categories are anxious, avoidant, and secure. The third category presents the least problems, but those with avoidant or anxious attachment styles (which is nearly half of all people) have significantly more challenges.
