But despite her hippophobia, Stewart managed to conquer her fear in the movie. "I wanted so badly to do this that it was just like, 'Alright, well, if I perish by horse, that's all good,'" she said.
Working with so many dogs can be frustrating at times. "After you do 15 takes and you finally get it right, a dog could screw it up and you gotta go again," said Cuba Gooding Jr.
Kristen Stewart might not be afraid of vampires or werewolves, but she's terrified of horses.
The actress fell off one when she was a child, and developed a fear of horses ever since.
Melanie Griffith starred in it as a child, alongside her mother, Tippi Hedren (pictured). Griffith was attacked and required "dozens of stitches and plastic surgery."
But it looks like it was combination of cold and dogs that made his experience so memorable. "A brother does not like the cold. That movie changed my sinuses for three years," he said.
The actress added: "Jason [Reitman] wanted an emotional breakdown with the dog at the end, and that didn't happen, because that dog wouldn't give me an emotional breakdown. ... My face was covered in applesauce, I had liver pate on my breasts, I was dog treat heaven, and I couldn't get this dog to focus."
Mavis, played by Charlize Theron, travels with a Pomeranian named Dolce in her purse. The problem is that the dog was not an actor. He was actually spotted by the director in the public, and being an amateur he ruined the experience for Theron.
Tony Soprano himself was not a fan of animals. He once even had a panic attack by looking at ducks. But then there was Adriana (played by Drea de Matteo), who had a dog.
Adriana's dog, called Cosette, was, let's say, a bit annoying. And Adriana's fiancé Christopher (Michael Imperioli) eventually got rid of the irritating pooch.
"I was bitten by the ferret, but I didn't do anything, I swear. I was holding him up and he did this crazy turn-around thing. He literally attached himself to my chin and he didn't let go," said the actor.
Late actor Matthew Perry also expressed his frustration, as the takes were only as good as the monkey's performance. "The monkey doesn't know he's on TV," he said.
Stiller's co-star Jennifer Aniston even compared the ferret to a rat. "It's not the warmest, cuddliest animal. It's just a big rat at the end of the day," she said.
You know the ferret in 'Along Came Polly?' Well, he bit Ben Stiller with his "sharp like razors" teeth. Stiller ended up having to take a rabies shot.
David Schwimmer said on the reunion that the root of his frustration with the monkey was that the monkey had to hit specific marks, and when it didn't they had to do multiple takes. Well, that, and the "live grubs" the trainer would feed the monkey as it was sitting on his shoulder. "I'd have monkey grubby hands all over," Schwimmer recalled.
If you've watched the show, you probably remember Ross' pet monkey, Marcel. Well, it happens that Marcel was actually played by two monkeys: Katie and Monkey.
It looks like James Corden wasn't a big fan of his co-star: a cow named Tug who played Milky White.
Corden called Tug "the biggest diva on set," adding, "It didn't change my mind about eating burgers working with that cow."
Remember Eddie, the true star of the sitcom? Well, his real name was Moose, and he was a bit of a temperamental actor.
"If I see a dog again, I might kick him in the balls to make a cat happy," the actor added.
And it appears that the actor himself shared the same feelings about Cosette. "She was always biting us," he confessed.
There were numerous injuries, including one member of the crew who "had his scalp ripped off by a lion and required 120 stitches." Ouch!

"You couldn't get it to focus for like two seconds. It was insane. It really was the perfect dog for Mavis but it was driving Charlize crazy," she said.
"He was a temperamental actor as far as I'm concerned," said John Mahoney about his canine co-star.
"I love dogs. But Moose ... I just realized right off the bat he's not interested in me. So to heck with it! I'm not going to knock myself. I'll just tolerate him as much as he tolerates me. And so, we got along all right," said the actor.
Apparently the actor disliked the fact that Tug would let a few "moos" out at inappropriate times, spoiling the actors' takes. "Five minutes was too long with that cow," Corden said.
Kelsey Grammer once said that Moose used to bite John Mahoney "whenever he'd sit on his lap."
A movie about a family living among lions in Africa. What could go wrong, right?
We know that not all actors get along. In fact, some even hate their co-stars, but that's understandable. Yet we like to think of Hollywood stars as animal-loving people (which most of them are, for sure). But sometimes the unpredictability of working with animals is such that even the calmest actors can lose their minds. Not only can animals ruin a perfectly good take, they can even turn violent!
